Ingleside sits on Ingleside Point on Corpus Christi Bay, in San Patricio County along State Highway 361. For years it was home to Naval Station Ingleside, the Navy's mine warfare base, until it closed in 2010 and the property went to the Port of Corpus Christi.
Census estimates put Ingleside's median home at 1992, newer than most towns around the bay, but about a third were still built before 1980. Along with Aransas Pass, it was one of the hardest-hit parts of San Patricio County in Hurricane Harvey.
