Where Harvey came ashore.
Rockport is the Aransas County seat, on the Live Oak Peninsula between Copano and Aransas bays, about 30 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
Hurricane Harvey's eye came ashore near Rockport and Fulton on the night of August 25, 2017, as a Category 4 storm. Today, Census estimates put the median home at 1989, and about one in five homes in Rockport is a seasonal or vacation home.
The Rockport Art Festival dates back to 1970, and the town sits along State Highway 35. During Harvey, the National Weather Service measured a 145 mph gust at the Aransas County Airport. Rockport has about 7,200 homes, 71% owner-occupied, with a median value around $320,500, and Aransas County ISD serves it.
Kitchens, bathrooms and flooring. That's what Jacob takes on in Rockport. Laundry rooms, fences and smaller repairs are Corpus Christi only.
